Wim and Mark Burgers founded B2Works in 2008.

That was the year when Mark’s parents sold the waste recycling company Burgers to a bigger player in the field. The new owner did not want to continue employing the eight Polish migrants who had been working at Burgers for years. But Mark Burgers was not prepared to just let those people go after they had dedicated so much to his parent’s business for so long. So he agreed to employ them himself and send them to the new owner as temporary workers. This pivotal moment shaped our approach to human resources, as our commitment to being human while being professional has remained our most important priority.

B2Works started by chance with little experience in the field but great ambition and enthusiasm. Very soon, Mark and Wim realized that their temping agency had a lot of potential, so it passed from their part-time project to their main business.

Due to the vast networks of both founders, their knowledge about what businesses need, and their personal approach, the agency grew quickly, adding new clients to its portfolio.

The year B2Works hired their first employees, a team of multi-talented people who have helped with administration, visiting clients, and assisting temporary workers ever since!

As B2Works began to employ more temporary workers, finding accommodation for them became a growing challenge. To address this, a large portion of the Burgers family capital was invested in housing for B2Works to give temporary workers comfortable places to live.

Mark and Wim bought an old office building and converted it into a hotel called Nimma and an administrative office for B2Works. Nimma serves an important function: to welcome new workers, who usually arrive on the weekend.

Mark Burgers handed over the organization’s management to Mark Wijnhoven so that he could focus on obtaining and maintaining accommodation for the temporary workers. Later that year, Eric Boerakker came on board as a shareholder to help B2Works with its commercial objectives.

In 2022, Wim retired. Mark Wijnhoven and Nick Verstegen (B2Works’ financial director) bought some of his shares. They formed a new board of shareholders with Mark Burgers and Eric Boerakker.

With a team of 25 dedicated professionals, we continuously strive to provide excellent service to both employees and clients. Currently, approximately 650+ employees from various countries work for B2Works.

We have ambitious plans, and the demand for temporary workers in the Netherlands continues to grow. Our ultimate goal is to expand while maintaining the high standards and human approach we are known for. Our success is driven by the happiness and satisfaction of our clients and employees.
